How it works - racing and clinics
1- We have run monthly classroom and on the water clinics since April 2025. Over 50 participants have attended to date. Stay tuned for our next clinic.
2- We have had up to 6 boats racing the Thursday evening SYSCO series on the Columbia, ends August 28. We are starting to sail in the PYC Sailing on Sundays.
HOW IT WORKS - Skippers
1- We have Melges 20's in the water at McCuddy's Marina on Marine Drive in Portland, Oregon.
2- We have a select team of qualified skippers who have volunteered their time and expertise in exchange for access to the boats.
3- Skippers manage maintenance, sign up to race, coordinate their crews and coach clinics.
HOW IT WORKS - Crew
1- All crew must sign a waiver to sail. No exceptions.
2- All crew must sign up for a month long crew subscription.
3- Crew should join the blueflashsailing WhatsApp crew/skipper group and submit a contact form on this site. Our team will try to facilitate connections.

We believe fun fast sailing should be available to all! We create opportunities for experienced sailors to connect and get more people out on the water.

Our mission is to sail different. We believe in creating a culture of safety and inclusiveness, improving communication (and sailing) skills on the water, and building the next generation of lifelong sailors.
